Pima Cotton Bedskirt

The name Pima cotton comes from the Pima Indigenous tribe, who played a key role in the early cultivation of this cotton variety in the United States. In the early 1900s, the U.S. Department of Agriculture worked with the Pima people in Arizona to grow and cultivate this cotton, which was initially developed from Egyptian cotton plants. Although the cotton itself is not native to the region, the name honors the tribe’s contribution to its successful growth and development in the U.S.

Extra-long staple cottons, such as Egyptian and Pima, come from the same cotton species Gossypium barbadense, known for its longer, finer fibers.
