The plan was simple: brunch, fresh air, and a view. Bartholomew Bear chose the menu (pancakes, obviously). Bashful Bunny picked the location – high in the Rockies, beside a lake that looked just like the one on her vision board.

Amuseables Acered Maple Syrup joined them for the trip, bringing expert opinion on both stack structure and oar technique. Just as well, given they’d packed everything – plates, squirty cream, spare socks... except the frying pan. They left that behind on the opposite shore.

They took the scenic route back. Luckily, the view was still there on their return (if anything, the mountains looked even more mountificent!). All that rowing had worked up an appetite…

Pancakes, as it turns out, taste even better with a panorama on the side.
